The hadron pair forward-backward asymmetry in the electron positron annihilation process

چکیده

The forward-backward asymmetry is an important measurable quantity which can enable independent determination of the neutral-current couplings fermions. In this paper, we extend definition from partonic level to hadronic by calculating hadron pair in semi-inclusive electron position annihilation process. Semi-inclusive implies that a back-to-back jet also measured addition pair. Due limitation factorization theorem, calculate process up leading order twist-4 applying collinear expansion formalism. After obtaining differential cross section, asymmetries and show them terms corresponding di-hadron fragmentation functions. Di-hadron functions are introduced describe productions With available parameterization functions, present numerical estimation asymmetry. On flip side, measurements would give strict restrictions parameterizations We illustrate their contributions.

The forward-backward asymmetry at NNLO revisited

I reconsider the forward-backward asymmetry for flavoured quarks in electron-positron annihilation. I suggest an infrared-safe definition of this observable, such that the asymmetry may be computed in perturbative QCD with massless quarks.
